Thoughts on time, spirit and the illusion of psychism

I don’t think I believe in psychic phenomena. At least not in the way it’s usually framed and broadcast via social media. From my own experiences with dreams and visions, what people call “psychic” is more like an attunement to a field which is timeless. I believe there is one mind where all things exist, past, present, and future. A field of being. A living intelligence. And some people are simply more practiced, or more surrendered to receiving information from that place.

They’re perceiving from the point of view of the One Mind, the source-mind, where we all already exist. But to do that, there has to be a fusion. A merge between the little mind, our localized, embodied awareness and the Big Mind, the universal intelligence outside time and space. From that place, you don’t see a timeline of events one after the other. You see a whole. All possibilities already exist. Everything that could happen has happened. Because we are spirit encased in matter, what we perceive as time is just the ever present now trickling through form like brew from a drip coffee maker. We’re not moving through time. We’re filtering the eternal now through the slowness of form. Time isn’t real from Spirit’s point of view. But our bodies are bound to this realm. We’re spirit, yes but we are housed in a container of flesh. And matter doesn’t move like spirit. It moves slow.

Spirit is light. Matter is memory.
Spirit is instant. Matter is delay.

That’s why it feels like time is passing.
That’s why it feels like we’re predicting something. But really, without these bodies, it’s all happening at once. In a kind of constant big bang.

With these bodies, though, we’re in slow motion. The fragmentation allows us to experience love, grief, learning, loss. Pain and joy. That’s the cost of embodiment. The blessing, too.

It’s so easy for us to get trapped in the trauma of form, but even then, something eternal lives within us. Something untouched.

It’s not good or bad. It just is.
And so is life.
